PURPOSE
The Finance Helpdesk Analyst is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and customer‑focused support for finance‑related queries across the organization. The role involves handling tickets, resolving issues related to finance processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to maintain smooth financial operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Finance Helpdesk Operations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for finance‑related queries from internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and resolve tickets related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, T&E, vendor queries, and other finance processes.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) for response and resolution.
  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams or managers when required.
2. Issue Resolution & Process Support
  • Investigate discrepancies in invoices, payments, purchase orders, cost center allocations, and expense claims.
  • Assist business users in navigating finance systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Concur, Coupa, etc.).
  • Support month-end/quarter-end activities by providing clarifications and clearing open queries.
3. Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Maintain updated SOPs, FAQs, and knowledge base articles for recurring issues.
  • Document new issues and work with process owners to develop permanent solutions.
4. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify root causes of frequent issues and recommend process enhancements.
  • Participate in UAT for finance system upgrades and process changes.
  • Provide insights through trend analysis of tickets and recurring user challenges.
5. Stakeholder Management
  • Coordinate with AP, AR, GL, Procurement, IT, and other teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at various levels.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

- Experience of working in a Shared Service Centre is preferred;- 5+ years experience in the specific area of responsibility;- 5+ years work experience in an accounting environment preferably within a medium size company with a matrix business structure;- Previous experience in audit activities is an advantage;

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

- Analytical capabilities; - Ability to multi-task to stand up to pressure and meet tight deadlines; - Demonstrate the ability to use judgement discretion and professional integrity;- Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external customers at all levels;- Proficiency in spoken and written English; other languages are beneficial- Ability to apply processes and procedures for the area of responsibility;- Understanding of basic accounting principles;- Demonstrate PC proficiency (MS Excel Word Power Point); - Working knowledge of Oracle SUN (or equivalent financial systems) Hyperion reporting system is desirable

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

- University Degree in Accounting or equivalent or Higher College education in Business studies
