Role Introduction
Reports to: Group Safety Manager - Operational Safety
The Operational Safety Specialist supports the enhancement of airline safety. The role supports the Safety Management System (SMS), including investigations and risk assessments. This role will undertake tasks that support various Operational Safety team activities and directives.
Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming safety reports in the Group’s Safety Database, including initial acceptance. Follow up and closure as directed by AMGOS and GSM-OS.
- Assist in safety meetings, including administrative duties and preparation of presentation materials.
- Assist in promoting airline safety initiatives related to operational safety under the directive of the GSM-OS.
- Assist and facilitate Port Restart and New Port risk assessments.
- Coordinate and carry out safety trainings and briefings.
- Participate in safety risk assessments (SRA) as necessary.
- Support the continuous development and effective operation of the team.
- Undertake operational safety duties as directed by the GSM-OS.

Knowledge
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent.
- Sound knowledge of safety & risk management principles and practices; sound knowledge of Aviation Operations.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experiences in airline or related industry.
- Having previous airline experience would be advantageous.
