PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced C-17 Aircraft Electrical Mechanic to support aircraft modification, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting operations in San Antonio, TX. This role supports mission-critical aircraft programs and requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work variable shifts based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on- and off-aircraft electrical modifications to wiring and system components
• Execute complex connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optics
• Perform sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses per standard processes
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, blueprints, and retrofit requirements
• Assemble, install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and modify aircraft electrical systems and wire bundles
• Troubleshoot aircraft electrical and environmental system malfunctions of moderate difficulty at organizational or depot maintenance levels
• Conduct bench and flight-line operational testing per DOD, OEM, and company directives
• Ensure compliance with government, company, safety, Tool Control, and FOD procedures
• Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools to ensure quality conformance
• Assist and train junior team members; may lead teams during complex tasks
• Coordinate with management and peers to ensure best work practices and schedule adherence
• Support cross-functional teams (General Mechanics, Structures, Avionics) as needed
• Maintain required certifications, licenses, and training

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 4+ years of aircraft avionics/electrical experience performing duties described above
• 4+ years of knowledge/experience in electrical/electronic theories and aircraft systems
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
• Ability to pass required assessments during training
• Familiarity with Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement of this request.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Depot-Level or Modification Maintenance
• Ability to operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and electric-powered elevating equipment

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ascend/descend ladders and work in confined spaces
• Lift up to 35 lbs independently; team lift for loads over 50 lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching overhead, balancing on ladders or uneven surfaces
• Occasional climbing, crawling, squatting, stooping, and extended sitting
• Exposure to noise, elevated platforms, and metals
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Pass visual acuity and color perception testing
• Ability to handle and dispose of hazardous materials
• Frequent noise exposure

• Adherence to SA Tool Control and FOD procedures is mandatory
• Mission requirements may require scheduled and unscheduled overtime
