NASA Avionics TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join our team, supporting NASAs research aircraft. Your primary responsibility will involve maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing avionic and electrical systems for a diverse fleet of aircraft used for research, surveying, and data gathering.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair avionic and electrical aircraft systems for NASA research aircraft.
- Design, develop, evaluate, test, install, and maintain Avionic systems.
- Analyze and diagnose faults in the operational configuration of electronic systems and equipment.
- Interpret circuit wiring, logic diagrams, drawings, specifications, and schematics to understand the function and interconnections of various assemblies.
- Install and calibrate major inter-related and/or integrated aircraft systems, subsystems, and assemblies.
- Utilize basic computer competencies for research, email, and document control.
- Remove, replace, and upgrade aircraft parts, accessories, and components.
Essential Skills- 5+ years of Avionics Experience with a focus on troubleshooting and upgrading systems.
- Military Experience is required.

Work Environment
You will work with the TFOME team at the NASA Research Center, providing engineering and technical services in aeronautics, space power, and propulsion test facilities. This is a 9-month contract-to-hire position requiring up to 15 travel in support of aircraft project missions. The work environment is a small shop with around five people, where you can focus on quality over quantity. Secret clearance will be needed during the contract.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.96 - $34.96/hr.
