DoD Clearance: SecretThis position is for a motivated Associate Director Electrical Engineering candidate to be involved in the strategy, pursuit, architecture, and full development life cycle of a wide variety of high-performance digital ASICs and FPGAs applied to signal processing and information assurance products across Mission Systems on the Product Enabling Technologies team.
What You Will Do:
Develop ASIC and FPGA architecture, requirements, design and test strategies
Work with systems to drive design approaches and ASIC/FPGA engineering estimates for new program pursuits.
Act as subject matter expert and independent reviewer for bids, requirement and architecture reviews (RARs), critical design reviews (CDRs), and other program gate and milestone reviews
Formulate and drive strategic initiatives across the directorate that improve and evolve ASIC and FPGA engineering tools and practices
Plan project level work and meet schedule, cost, and performance goals
Provide technical leadership for project design teams by breaking down work, planning activities, and reporting status
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Familiarity with best practice chip-level ASIC/FPGA design and verification techniques and languages
Digital circuit architecture, design, resource tradeoffs, timing analysis and timing closure
RTL coding and simulation in VHDL or Verilog
Testbench development for the verification of RTL blocks using VHDL or System Verilog.
Proficiency using ASIC and/or FPGA simulation and synthesis tools (e.g. Modelsim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado, or other FPGA-specific tools)
Experience with Earned Value and Cost Account Management
Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion)
The ability to obtain a secret security clearance is required.
Qualification We Prefer:
Drive strategic product/technology roadmaps and process improvement initiatives
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to document and present team’s work and status
Ability to lead teams with a variety of skills and backgrounds and matrix into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones while managing scope, budget, and schedule
Experience bidding ASIC and FPGA development for new pursuits using SEER
Track record of working closely with external vendors and knowledge of industry trends
ASIC / FPGA lab validation with advanced lab equipment
Design for Test (DFT) and manufacturability issues
Experience with Unix, scripting languages, C/C++

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
