Electrical Avionics Engineer I (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:
New product development and provide technical expertise in the area of avionics/electrical systems equipment specification and installation on all products manufactured by the Company.
• Have proficiency in computer aided design applications.
• Review existing designs and equipment applications for product update/improvement or changed regulatory requirements.
• Create, review, and issue installation drawings for new product design and applications.
• Create and issue engineering orders (EO) to implement necessary design changes.
• Investigate problems with new or existing designs and implement corrective actions through the EO process.
• Read, interpret and evaluate technical specifications as they apply to new product development.
• Create and issue experimental work orders to verify new design or product application.
• Provide technical support to Production, Customer Service, Quality Control, Purchasing and Marketing departments as required.
• Prepare substantiation reports for new equipment installations.
• Prepare fault tree analysis and/or failure model and effects analysis (FMEA) for new avionics applications.
Prepare electrical load analysis for new avionics and electrical installations.
Design brackets, shelving and specialized assemblies for electrical and avionics installations.
Perform other related duties as required.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. May be required to train and assist other employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering, 0-2 years’ experience in avionics/electrical systems design, installation and support in the aviation industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.
