  • Develop and validate fatigue spectra, stress analysis, crack growth predictions, and inspection intervals using classical and FEA methods.
  • Support legacy fleet through damage assessments, repair justifications, and Service Bulletin development.
  • Provide on-going line support for production issues, non-conformances, and MRB dispositions related to structural integrity.
  • Define inspection requirements, thresholds, and repeat intervals for Damage Tolerance-based maintenance programs.
  • Support afterspanet product enhancements, modifications, and STCs with full F&DT substantiation.
  • Review and approve structural repairs for compliance with FAR Part 25.571, Part 26, and other applicable regulations.

  • Support fleet surveys, teardown inspections, and full-scale fatigue test programs as required.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering - Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Structures Engineering with emphasis on Fatigue and Damage Tolerance.
  • Must have both military and civil aircraft experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR Part 25.571, AC 25.571-1, and related FAA/EASA regulations.
  • Proficient in classical fatigue analysis, fracture mechanics, and crack growth tools such as NASGRO, AFGROW, or equivalent.
  • Experience with FEA tools such as Nastran/Patran, ABAQUS, or ANSYS.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, FEMs, and stress reports.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Engineering.
  • DER or ODA Unit Member authorization in Structures/F&DT.
  • Experience with legacy aircraft sustainment programs and life extension.
  • Knowledge of composite fatigue and damage tolerance principles.
  • Experience supporting full-scale aircraft fatigue testing.
  • Familiarity with Part 26 / Aging Aircraft requirements and Widespread Fatigue Damage programs.
