Your responsibilities
As “Qualification Test Engineer“, you will ensure the validation of Parker-Meggitt developments by conducting and performing qualification tests with special focus on vibration and temperature and will work with development teams to specify test protocols following different industrial, aeronautical, and military standards. You will also be in charge of maintaining laboratories and test equipment in good operational conditions.The main responsibilities for this role are as follows:
- Perform environmental testing for the Engineering department, contributing to the qualification and certification of the products, including:o Support planning of testso Prepare associated documentation (test planning, specifications, reports, evidence and others)o Conduct tests as planned, respecting safety and quality related procedureso Support engineering and operations with expertise in temperature, vibration, and combined qualification tests during all phases of project or program, as required
Be the focal point for the environmental test laboratory, including:o Lead continuous improvement activities for the labo Maintain laboratories and test equipment in safe and operational conditionso Liaise with customers and external labs as requiredo Propose acquisition of new equipment required for the good execution of current capabilities and for future enlarged capability.
Who we are looking for
- Degree in either mechanical, electrical, material engineering or equivalent field
- At least 3 years of experience in qualification testing
- Skilled in hands-on testing, manipulation of test equipment and test units
- Skilled in the configuration of test equipment and interpretation of results
- Knowledge of different measurement, data acquisition and processing tools
- Strong team player with demonstrated sense of initiative
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills in both French and English
Ideally, you will also have
- Knowledge of aerospace and military test standards is an asset : DO-160G, MIL-STD-810)
- Experience in testing under metrological standards compliance (ie. IEC-60068-2) is an asset
