Role Summary
* In this role, you will monitor every phase of the software development process to ensure design quality, making sure delivered software adheres to company standards and satisfies regulatory requirements. You will interface with systems and software personnel, test and evaluation teams, and project managers, supporting aerospace/defense industry programs. Education & Job Requirements
* Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
* Must have a minimum of 11 years of directly related work experience with aerospace/defense industry software processes (e.g., RTCA DO-178c, RTCA 278a, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498).
* Must demonstrate knowledge of software development methods, software testing methods, and basic audit techniques.
* Must have effective communication skills, including written, oral, listening, presentation, and technical writing skills.
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Moderate travel may be required. Preferred Skills
* You will have experience with government customer projects, FAA projects, software requirements development, software design and coding (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded programming languages), and embedded software/hardware verification.
* You will have experience mentoring and training junior employees. Job Duties / Functions
* You will interface with systems and software development personnel, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.
* You will quickly come up to speed with the software process auditor work scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestone schedule.
* You will review and approve systems, software, and test equipment requirements, design, and test documentation for compliance with process requirements and standards.
* You will participate in engineering program activities to ensure processes and products are compliant with contractual and company process requirements and standards.
* You will participate in the software change control process boards.
* You will mentor and train junior employees, as required.
