Systems Engineer - Network & Secruity Architecture

Contract Position

Pay Estimated: $84.40-$89.40/Hour

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and integration of network and system-level architectures, from requirements analysis through verification and validation.

• Conduct requirements analysis, management, allocation, and decomposition across subsystems and components.

• Perform functional analysis, performance modeling, trade studies, and risk assessments.

• Design and develop secure networks and information systems compliant with government security regulations.

• Evaluate system security features (authentication, access control, auditing) and assist with system certification and accreditation efforts.

• Support modeling and simulation activities, and conduct feasibility assessments using COTS, GFE/CFE components, and vendor specifications.

• Define processes for system compatibility (hardware/software), and maintain technical documentation across the system development life cycle.

• Coordinate and manage interface control documents (ICDs) and external technical interfaces.

• Act as a technical point of contact for cross-functional teams including program management and external stakeholders.

• Contribute to major project milestones, recommend solutions, and support continuous process improvements in system design and delivery.

• Support Agile program execution with a lightweight, flexible approach to requirements definition and implementation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field(Master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience, or Bachelors with 8+ years experience required)

• Active U.S. Citizenship required (per Federal Law)

• Active Secret Clearance required

• Experience in systems engineering methodologies, including system-level design, requirements decomposition, and technical planning

• Strong understanding of multi-level security domains and cross-domain solutions

• Demonstrated experience with agile development programs and rapid requirements definition

• Expertise in coordinating external network interfaces and working closely with WAN providers

• Familiarity with defense industry partners such as Iridium, SDA, Northrup, York, and Lockheed

• Ability to define technical scope, manage design boundaries, and communicate system-level impact
