Job Summary:

Reporting to the Co-President and the applicable operational chain of command, the job responsibilities under this assignment are supporting the national efforts of the PHI Health Group by directing all clinical aspects toward becoming a national center of excellence and innovation, in additional to fulfilling the requirements of the applicable full-time position. This assignment has the following specific areas of focus quality improvement programs, clinical education, clinical protocols, regulatory compliance, clinical leadership collaboration, research and directing efforts of the medical advisory board for all stand-alone programs and bases within the PHI Health Group.

This assignment requires travel to all locations as needed. Has indirect oversight responsibility for program clinical managers. Must stay current with industry clinical standards. Is responsible for identifying potentially high-risk cases and assists with depositions and trial cases; is the liaison with legal counsel.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for national oversight and effectiveness of integrated quality clinical programs (CQI, Education, Recruitment). Collaborates with Co-COO’s, Clinical Managers and Program Directors to assist with development, implementation, and management of programs where necessary. Includes: establishment of a national standard curriculum based on standardized patient care guidelines; teaching and testing processes; and assurance of quality patient care within established policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining mechanism for ensuring all Programs are in compliance with various regulatory agencies i.e. OSHA, HIPAA, CAMTS

  • Responsible for clinical leadership collaboration and medical advisory board. Works closely with existing medical directors to ensure consistent, quality patient care as outlined in the clinical protocols. Directs efforts of medical advisory board towards nationally focused efforts in ensuring PHI Health is leading the Air Medical industry in clinical excellence and unparalleled customer satisfaction.   

  • Responsible for directing the coordination of efforts to identify and mitigate risks related to clinical practice of Health personnel. Acts as a liaison with legal counsel and is involved with depositions, trials when needed.

  • Maintains oversight of all clinical contracts for medical directors and clinical educational agreements. Ensures that contracts are appropriately reviewed and approved by PHI Legal.

  • Develops capital and operational budgets for all clinical operations.

  • Maintains active roll-on national level representing the interests of PHI Health Group in activities related to research, publications, legislative committees, or other groups dedicated towards excellence in clinical transport standards. Advises and presents information on possible new technology or innovative tools for enhancing clinical excellence and/or business opportunities.

  • Assists with other duties and projects assigned.

  • Promotes Destination Zero initiative within Health

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with strong critical care experience.

  • Must have experience working in the field as a Clinical Manager for 3+ years at PHI.

  • Must have experience as a Flight Nurse 5+ years at PHI.

  • Must have demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and managing national level projects.

  • Health transport (aviation) experience required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred.  

  • Must be computer literate; familiar with Microsoft or similar applications (Office, Project, etc)

  • This position is designated Safety Sensitive for purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.
