JOB TITLE: Materials Planner
DEPARTMENT: Materials
REPORTS TO: Materials Manager
LOCATION: Ypsilanti, MI - YIP
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Monitor Flight Schedule and MX Schedule of aircraft for planned MX events.
- Review Parts Consumption Forecast 30-180 days out to collect data of open parts requirements.
- Ensure parts and/or materials are available at planned stations three or more days prior to the planned MX event.
- Coordinate with the Repairs department in advance for items that are out for repair that will need to be expedited.
- Negotiate with vendors during the procurement of parts process.
- Communicate with Inventory Control on findings of possible future shortages based off part requirements.
- Issue pick slips for parts on hand at planned station prior to MX planned event.
- Perform stock transfers as needed utilizing the AMOS Database Transfer Order process and communicating with Stores personnel during and after the process if required.
- Closely monitor and follow-up on moving materials for Planned Events from Origin to Destination.
- Work closely with Maintenance Planning regarding open requirements that may require additional data to source or more time required which may require pushing the event at a later date.
- Coordinate with Materials Management for pre-approvals if a rotable part is required to be transferred from a MX Line Station for a planned MX Event in OSC.
- Effectively prioritize tasks while ensuring attention to details is exercised.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Inventory Control Supervisor or Materials Manager.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable.
Aviation experience preferred w/ background in navigating and using Inventory Management databases. Microsoft Office experience is required, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Proficient communication skills is a must.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to create / write routine reports and correspondence.
