Job Title: Aircraft Component Technician
Job DescriptionThe Aircraft Component Technician performs inspection, repair, and overhaul tasks on aircraft components in an entry-level capacity. In this role, you support the full component lifecycle, including shipping and receiving, disassembly, cleaning, stripping of coatings, painting, and accurately documenting all work performed. You work closely with a small team to ensure components meet technical and quality standards in a regulated aviation environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, handle, and prepare aircraft components through shipping and receiving activities as required.
- Disassemble aircraft components in accordance with applicable technical documents and work instructions.
- Clean and strip coatings from components following established procedures and specifications.
- Identify, assess, and document damaged or worn parts during inspection and disassembly.
- Perform or arrange for required inspections in line with technical documentation and regulatory requirements.
- Paint components as required, ensuring proper preparation, application, and finish quality.
- Accurately document all work performed, including parts used, findings, and process steps, in the required records and systems.
- Send components to the next station or department, ensuring proper tagging, documentation, and handover.
- Perform additional related duties as required to support the repair and overhaul process.
- Work safely at all times and follow rules, regulations, and safety procedures affecting the work and workplace.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, following directives precisely to maintain workflow and quality standards.
Essential Skills- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and interest in aircraft systems.
- High level of manual dexterity for detailed component handling, disassembly, and assembly tasks.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and mechanical equipment used in component work.
- Strong attention to detail to identify damage, wear, and discrepancies in components.
- Written and verbal communication skills in English to understand instructions and complete documentation accurately.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and follow directives precisely in a team environment.
- Physical strength and endurance, including the ability to lift items repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience or familiarity with component repair, mechanical work, or assembly is an asset.
- Comfort working with technical documents, work instructions, and process specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a process-driven environment while maintaining quality and safety.
- Willingness to perform a variety of duties across shipping, receiving, disassembly, cleaning, painting, and documentation.

Work Environment
You work on a scheduled day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, providing a predictable and stable workweek. The role is based in a small team environment at a facility located at the Winnipeg airport, where collaboration and clear communication are part of daily operations. The work involves hands-on tasks with aircraft components, using hand tools and mechanical equipment in a shop setting that emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to technical procedures.
