Summary:
Perform close-tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation on critical support structures and fracture-critical areas
Locate blind holes for installation of structural components on existing aircraft structures
Perform sealing, painting, shimming, and preservation in accordance with standard repair processes
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements
Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level structural modification and repair
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components and perform component replacements
Perform sheet metal and structural modifications and repairs
Determine functionality of basic electrical systems
Utilize aircraft-specific tools and test equipment (torque wrenches, micrometers, cable tensiometers, etc.)
Access aircraft data systems and initiate parts and discrepancy requests
Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits
Work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift up to approximately 35 lbs
Ensure a safe work environment, including adherence to Lockout/Tagout and hazardous energy procedures
Requirements:
3+ years of experience working with non-porous metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel)
3+ years of experience interpreting schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and SOPs
3+ years of experience using structural hand tools (drills, countersink cages, rivet guns, etc.)
3+ years of experience performing heavy structural work (drilling, fastening, installing components such as stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.)
Ability to work variable shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
