Job Description

• The Quality Inspector ensures the highest standards of safety and compliance for 737 aircraft by performing comprehensive inspections, audits, and quality checks throughout the maintenance and modification process. This role supports complex projects, including heavy checks on commercial and military 737 aircraft, and requires the ability to develop procedures, guide technicians, and contribute to continuous improvement in a dynamic, high-activity hangar environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on aircraft, components, and related work to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and procedures.
• Conduct incoming inspections on aircraft and accurately document findings in discrepancy logs, then transfer those items into the appropriate work orders.
• Carry out APU and engine run quality checks to verify proper performance and adherence to specifications.
• Conduct shelf life audits, work documentation audits, and toolbox audits to maintain compliance and readiness.
• Develop and refine procedures based on the specific project requirements, ensuring they are clear, compliant, and practical for the operation.
• Create and maintain detailed checklists to support procedures and inspection activities.
• Perform trending analysis for FOD (Foreign Object Debris) audits and use data to identify and mitigate risks.

Essential Skills

• General Familiarization (Gen Fam) training on 737 NG series is required, with valid certification documentation preferred.
• Experience working in a Part 145 repair station environment is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required, with an active Secret Clearance strongly preferred due to upcoming projects.
• Demonstrated quality inspection experience, including receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
• Auditing experience with a strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge and application of AS9110 and/or AS9100 standards is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, including the ability to build spreadsheets and perform trend analysis from data.
• Ability to write clear, structured procedures and process documents.
• Experience preparing corrective action reports based on findings and audit results.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• AS9120 experience related to distribution is a plus.
• Experience performing aircraft weight and balance testing is beneficial.

Work Environment

• This role is based in a newly renovated, very clean hangar environment that is non-climate controlled, so temperatures vary with the seasons.
• The operation currently runs extended hours, with typical schedules around 56 hours per week, structured as five 10-hour days plus a 6-hour shift on Saturdays, depending on project demands.
• The primary need is for 1st shift, but 2nd shift assignments may be required based on program requirements, and flexibility to work either shift is essential.

Pay

• $36-$43/hr
• Per Diem

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.
