The Logistics Manager will provide logistics support in the maintenance of aircraft and engine systems and components for both CONUS and OCONUS locations. This position will utilize a combination of management, organization, leadership, technical, and logistics skills to develop and maintain site-specific internal and external logistics network to support maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities
Manages the logistics movement, distribution and storage of supplies and materials.
- Sources parts/material and negotiates preferential pricing with vendor.
- Plans routes, analyzes budgets, and processes shipments. Designs and analyzes the logistics processes and operational solutions used in distributing those goods and services.
- Identifies and complies with all regulations/compliance requirements for OCONUS shipments.
- Identifies and complies with training requirements for hazardous shipments.
- Identifies and evaluates the effectiveness of all aspects of methods of distribution with the goal of improving operational efficiency.
Advises management on logistics topics and proposes logistics solutions.
Performs complex tasks typically following established processes.
Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
Qualifications
Capable of maintaining an accurate accountability for on-hand inventory.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and handling of hazardous materials.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Work collaboratively, cooperatively, and effectively with co-workers, managers, and stakeholders whether as a team player, team leader, or individual contributor.
Ability to manage multiple roles and projects.
Must pass pre-employment background check.
U.S. citizen with the eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance is required.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5 years experience specializing in a DoD aviation/material control environment or equivalent.
- Prior aviation logistical operations experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
