Summary of Essential Duties
The Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) is based on the premise that although verifying safety and compliance with regulations and operating procedures is a responsibility shared by each functional department within the Company, an objective centralized mechanism is needed to continuously facilitate appropriate levels of risk detection and process development or improvement. IEP is focused on detection of risk, discovery of improvement opportunity, and safety assurance adjacent to the Safety Management System (SMS) division comprising the overarching Safety and Security Department. The Manager of IEP will have the authority to modify policies and procedures supporting the IEP with consideration of the specific duties listed below.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the IEP in accordance with regulatory guidance/requirements and third-party standards.
- Assist in the development of departmental Quality Assurance Programs.
- Maintain/coordinate a routine evaluation schedule across all Divisions.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations that may be comprised of on-site audits in a variety of environments including in the field, inflight, in training environments, and in office environments.
- Prepare checklists and audit reports. This will include debriefing assigned departments and collaborating on corrective actions to ensure all aspects of SMS are implemented for continuous improvement.
- Maintain database of evaluation schedule, findings, and corrective action plans.
- Train and support IEP representatives/auditors across all Divisions.
- Travel for onsite evaluations for a portion of the schedule.
- Interface regularly with all members of the Safety and Security Department as well as cross department counterparts to ensure awareness of trends and concerns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
