The Senior Manager - Aeropolitical Affairs will be responsible for obtaining, protecting, and expanding traffic rights and spanet access for IndiGo. Reporting to the Vice President - Aeropolitical & Industry Affairs, you will also be contributing to IndiGo’s aeropolitical objectives and broader initiatives on liberalisation and competition through advocacy efforts and stakeholder engagements. In this role, you will: • Prepare aeropolitical positions, requirements, and correspondence on traffic rights and policy concerns.• Research, organise, and prepare focused briefing notes, advocacy submissions, and presentations ahead of inter-governmental bilateral air services negotiations and stakeholder meetings to achieve IndiGo’s aeropolitical or broader policy objectives in the assigned area.• Assess emerging international and domestic air transport policies and conduct spanet research on the airline industrys activities.• Represent IndiGo at inter-governmental bilateral air services negotiations with countries in the assigned area to protect and expand the airline’s traffic rights and other aeropolitical entitlements.• Build and maintain healthy relationships with government agencies & authorities to maximise IndiGo’s access to international spanets and engage with government and other stakeholders in the assigned area to promote the airline and its aeropolitical objectives.• Draft letters, policy proposals, and briefing notes for senior leadership on key aeropolitical files for high-level negotiations as required.• Obtain government authorisations for IndiGo’s operations to new destinations or, when required, for additional flights to existing points and select codeshare flights in the assigned area.• Carry out all stand-alone special assignments and projects, as may be assigned from time to time.Qualifications & Experience To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:• Post graduate degree in Management or Law. • 10+ years’ experience, of which at least 5 years in an aviation environment, preferably in an airline. • Excellent stakeholder relationship, communication and negotiation abilities.• Superb writing skills and experience in drafting effective correspondence.• Demonstrated ability to use and interpret complex data sets.• Full attention to detail and accuracy of the presented data as well as written documents.
