Job Title: Assembler
Job Description
As an assembler, you will set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mills, boring machines, and grinders to machine both metallic and non-metallic pieces. You will trim, drill, route, line up, and assemble materials, and work with forming machines and presses. Additionally, you will set up and break down production tools and aids, using gauges, scales, calipers, and other measuring equipment to ensure quality and accuracy according to work orders and instructions.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, mills, boring machines, and grinders.
- Trim, drill, route, line up, and assemble materials.
- Work with forming machines and presses.
- Set up and break down production tools and production aids.
- Use measuring equipment to check accuracy and follow work order instructions.
- Perform daily maintenance on machines including maintaining fluid levels, emptying chips, and cleaning machines.
- Check and monitor parts being run for quality.
- Deburr and blend all machined parts.
- Shear large sheet metal pieces using an overhead crane.
- Operate ovens for heat treatment, rack products, and log data.
- Move raw materials onto machines and operate them to create airplane slats.
- Collaborate in a team to load machines with heavy parts.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of the aerospace industry.
- Ability to read basic dimensions and tolerances from blueprints.
- Math skills for basic calculations.
- Ability to read and use measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
- Capability to lift 50 lbs consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Trade school education in machining practices preferred.
- Background in moving, staging, and loading raw materials for production.
- Construction labor experience is advantageous.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr.
