You interpret assembly documentation, use a variety of tools and test equipment safely, handle materials, and accurately record system information. The position requires the ability to move around and work on large equipment, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and contribute positively as a proactive, energetic team member.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble cables, harnesses, panels, enclosures, and other small subassemblies according to production requirements.
  • Install components and devices in accordance with assembly documentation and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and other production-related documentation to complete assemblies accurately.
  • Solder wires, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and components to required standards.
  • Measure, cut, strip, and route wires on panels and enclosures using appropriate tools.
  • Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for assembly tasks.
  • Use measuring and test tools such as multimeters, continuity checkers, and other test equipment to verify proper operation.
  • Participate in system troubleshooting and diagnostics, working with test technicians and engineering to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide feedback on assembly processes and suggest changes or improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Complete build records, production forms, and other documentation accurately and on time.
  • Perform quality checks on your own work and conduct buddy checks on the work of others as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace by applying 5S methodologies.
  • Follow manufacturing guidelines, procedures, and standard work instructions consistently.
  • Adhere to regulatory, compliance, and internal company policies at all times.
  • Participate in cross-training activities to support multiple product lines and broaden your skill set.
  • Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality and productivity.
  • Install software on various computer platforms as required to support system builds and testing.
  • Apply knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems to support equipment configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot software-related issues on systems and equipment as part of the assembly and test process.
  • Work on large systems that may require using lifts or ladders and maneuvering around sizable equipment.
  • Support multiple product lines and equipment types used for inspection and security applications, including mobile and portal-based systems for passenger and commercial vehicles.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment performing similar electro-mechanical assembly duties.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, which requires United States citizenship.
  • Experience in cable assembly and harness fabrication.
  • Ability to assemble panels, enclosures, and mechanical subassemblies.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Soldering experience with wires, PCBAs, and components.
  • Hands-on experience using basic hand tools and power tools in an assembly environment.
  • Ability to use test and measuring equipment such as multimeters and continuity checkers.
  • Awareness of electrostatic discharge (ESD) principles and safe handling of sensitive components.
  • Average computer skills to perform daily tasks, documentation, and basic software operations.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems sufficient to support installation and configuration tasks.
  • Ability to install software on various computer platforms.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues on systems and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated drive and ambition to execute and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Personal integrity, trustworthiness, and respect in day-to-day interactions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to help foster and maintain a positive team culture.
  • Comfort working at heights on lifts or ladders when required.
  • Ability to work outdoors when assigned to equipment that requires outdoor support.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Current or previously held certification in IPC 620, IPC 610, IPC 7711, IPC 7721, or J-STD is preferred.
  • Experience working in a production facility environment with structured processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization methodologies.
  • Experience supporting inspection or security-related equipment for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, or cargo systems is beneficial.
  • Ability to support multiple product lines and adapt to different equipment configurations.
  • Comfort collaborating with engineering, test technicians, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.

Why Work Here?

You join a mission-driven organization that builds advanced inspection and security systems used in critical infrastructure and transportation environments. The culture emphasizes integrity, respect, and strong interpersonal relationships, creating a positive and collaborative atmosphere on the production floor. You benefit from opportunities for cross-training and exposure to multiple product lines, allowing you to broaden your technical skills and advance your career. The environment rewards initiative, attention to detail, and continuous improvement, giving you a platform to contribute ideas and see their impact in real-world applications.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production facility that supports multiple inspection and security equipment product lines, including mobile and portal systems for passenger and commercial vehicles. You work with a range of tools and technologies, including hand tools, power tools, multimeters, continuity checkers, test equipment, and computer-based systems used for software installation and diagnostics. The role involves working around large equipment, and you may need to use lifts or ladders, so comfort with heights is important. Some assignments require working outdoors when equipment is installed or serviced outside. The environment follows structured manufacturing guidelines, regulatory and compliance policies, and 5S workplace organization practices to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace.
