Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is seeking a highly experienced Program Manager to serve as a key member of our team supporting the Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This individual will be responsible for managing the Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) program and team, providing oversight, strategic guidance, and continuous improvement recommendations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in federal program and project management, operational assessments, and executive-level stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the CSSP Team, overseeing program execution and performance.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the IA Team, CSSP Team, and Federal Oversight, as well as with JFHQ-DODIN and other federal partners.
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with IT-related policies and procedures aligned with DOE NNSA cybersecurity requirements.
- Oversee CSSP reporting and auditing functions across subscriber sites.
- Coordinate closely with the Assessment Team for Site Assistance Visits (SAVs) and Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRIs).
- Foster strong relationships with subscriber sites to support compliance efforts and provide guidance on CSSP requirements.
- Review and assess cybersecurity documentation, including policies and procedures, for completeness and compliance.
- Lead and facilitate CSSP Working Group sessions to drive collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Provide expert-level recommendations, briefings, and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in project and program management within the federal government sector.
- Proven experience managing teams responsible for assessments, oversight, and operational improvements.
- Deep understanding of NNSA operations and its relationships with the Department of Defense (DoD), DOE, M&O contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and present executive-level briefings and recommendations.
- Expertise in cybersecurity operations, policies, and federal compliance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting DOE NNSA or similar mission-critical federal agencies.
- PMP, CISSP, or other relevant certifications.
- Experience engaging with JFHQ-DODIN and federal cybersecurity stakeholders.
