Position Summary
Responsible for implementing Lean initiatives at the Plant level by following the OpEx assessment guide. Organizes associates in continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste in all office, factory and support functions. Measures and reports progress on HPT & 5s, helps the production, quality and engineering department in the development of continuous improvement projects to achieve Plant goals
Responsibilities
- Aid in supporting a safe ergonomic working environment for all employees in the facility.
- Ensures Starpoint, and Natural High Performing Teams (HPTs) are following the HPT strategy and identify and gives training according to these methodologies.
- Facilitate problem solving tools at a daily basis and gives training if needed.
- Provide cost reduction and productivity improvements through the support of continuous improvement (value stream) projects by helping to create physical solutions like racks, tables, fixtures and karakuri systems
- Helps to develop ideas from the rest of the production associates through the usage of the Kaizen Promotion Office
- Guide engagement in all HPTs & facilitate weekly on the floor walks (GEMBA), meetings, Hours of Powers, BARNs & helps to production to maintain and solve doubts in the filling of information
- Purchase tools, materials that aid continuous improvement efforts.
- Use Lean Tools on the floor with Natural HPT/Starpoint’s/Site Leaders to solve business problems related to Safety, Quality, Delivery Cost and drive Value stream & Team improvement task list closure.
- Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production problems through identification and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes including conducting process analysis, floor layouts, Value Stream Mapping, Constraint identification/management, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from the operators/ production technicians.
- Ensures on-going education of all employees at the Plant in Lean and trains associates how to continually eliminate waste. Promotes a Continuous Learning environment. Position must understand the current culture & engagement through constant Lean Must Do monitoring.
- Manage the strategy and assures the implementation and sustainment of 5s at a plant level.
- Supports the sustainment of the KPO area by posting BARNS, updating kaizen tracker and follow up on kaizen suggestions by the associates.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 1 years of successful manufacturing experience with Lean experience a plus.
- Understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen.
- Strong math skills, experience with Microsoft Office, Visio & CAD software a plus.
- Ability to influence and work with all functions of the organization.
- Experience participating in kaizen events is a plus.
- Six Sigma knowledge, a strong plus.
- Good presentation skills to effectively share the success and ideas for the site.
