Build Software That Simulates the Future of National DefensePDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Software Development Analyst to support advanced modeling and simulation initiatives for one of the most sophisticated space defense programs in the country. Based at Schriever Space Force Base, this role is part of a cutting-edge effort to build training, analysis, and operational simulation systems supporting the U.S. Missile Defense System.
As part of an agile, mission-focused team, you’ll apply your engineering and software development expertise to projects that directly enhance warfighter training, concept development, testing, and real-time decision support tools.
This position requires a security clearance, and candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens.
What You’ll DoAs a Software Development Analyst, your role will include:
Researching and analyzing missile defense system capabilities to support simulation enhancements
Developing software tools to perform model validation, benchspaning, and system performance analysis
Contributing to the design and implementation of simulation architectures
Supporting agile software development teams and contributing to new feature development
Writing technical documentation for verification, validation, and performance testing
Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to determine and meet acceptance criteria
Troubleshooting and supporting simulation tools and environments used by defense analysts and warfighters
Presenting findings and updates to stakeholders through formal technical briefings
What You’ll BringRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 0 years of experience
Proficiency in C++ or Java and experience with scripting tools like Python or MATLAB
Familiarity with Linux-based development environments
Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to thrive in collaborative, high-performance teams
Preferred QualificationsExperience with missile defense simulations or Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) systems
Knowledge of discrete event simulation platforms (optimistic or conservative)
Familiarity with SQL, JIRA, Git, and Confluence
Understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, or Kanban workflows
Previous experience supporting Department of Defense simulation or command and control systems

Pay Details: $50.00 to $70.00 per hour
